Restaurant and wine bar featuring local Norwegian cuisine – 30 minutes from Oslo
Welcome to a culinary experience unlike any other at Sundvolden Hotel. Here, historical charm meets modern comfort. Our chefs create exquisite dishes inspired by Norwegian traditions and international flavors, with the finest local ingredients from Buskerud taking center stage. Whether you join us for breakfast, lunch, or a full gourmet dinner, we are ready to delight all your senses.
We prepare our food with great care for the ingredients, plenty of patience, and always from scratch. Many of our ingredients come from the fjord and local farmers.

You can reserve a table right here on the website or call +47 32 16 21 00. We welcome everything from romantic dinners for two to larger parties and events. There’s free parking just outside—with six charging stations for electric cars if you need to top up before heading home—so there’s no need to stress about finding a spot.
Wine Cellar 1648 is the hotel's original wine cellar, dating back to the year the hotel was founded. Here, you can create your own Winemaker’s Dinner—choose the wines yourself, and we’ll tailor the menu to match—enjoying your meal in intimate, authentic surroundings that have welcomed guests for nearly four centuries. The 4-star hotel above the cellar offers 273 rooms, so if the evening runs long, it’s easy to stay overnight just upstairs.
